From The Land Of The Wolf, Cloud Based Hangover
While walking through a natural setting with a heavy hangover, I encountered a group of stinging nettles (Urtica dioica). I had the feeling that this group of nettles had a soul — or were, in some way, speaking to me. I decided to cut the nettles and attempt to recreate them in another form, to see if I could reawaken the same feeling I had during that initial encounter, but within my studio setting.
I cut the nettles, scanned them, uploaded the scans to the cloud, then downloaded them again in my studio, printed them out, and reconstructed the nettles. This process became a way to explore whether the soul or spirit could remain in the recreation — and to reflect on how material or meaning may shift when something is uploaded, translated, and re-embodied.
