While walking with a hangover in a natural setting, I encountered a group of stinging nettles. I had the distinct feeling that these nettles possessed a soul—that, in some way, they were ‘speaking’ to me.
To understand this feeling, I cut the nettles and scanned them using a flatbed scanner. I uploaded the digital images to the cloud, then later downloaded them into my studio, where I printed them out. With these prints, I attempted to reconstruct the group of nettles, incorporating additional materials such as metal and resin. For me, this project was an exploration of life, soul, and transformation—how materials shift between different states, from the physical to the digital through uploading, and back to the tangible through downloading.
